Grief is the process and emotional response of bereavement. Grief responses are very individual and may include:
- Intense feelings of sadness

- Anxiety
- Numbness
- Denial
- Relief
- Mixed feelings
- Thinking or actions may be affected
- Difficulties with sleeping and/or appetite
- Physical symptoms such as aches, pains, headache, and nausea
