Diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder should be made by a medical or mental health professional. Your clinician will talk to you about the signs, symptoms, and the effect of what you have been experiencing, together with your relevant history. They may also ask you to fill in some questionnaires, which will help to identify the severity and/or type of symptoms.
Your clinician will discuss the diagnosis with you and develop a treatment plan together to best fit your needs. Your clinician may also refer you to other clinicians such as a Psychiatrist, Psychologist or other allied health professional for treatment and support.
