Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

Treatment for PTSD commonly includes psychological therapy which is highly effective in managing the triggers and impact of the trauma experience to improve wellbeing and functioning. Psychological therapy can also address underlying factors, co-occurring mental health issues, or other problematic areas, such as relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, and trauma.

Medical treatment such as prescribed medication may be used to support multiple areas of wellbeing. Other psychosocial support services or programs can include group therapy or self-help programs and lifestyle changes.
